Privacy Policy

Note: this page reflects Relio's real data practices, but has not yet had a full legal review. Treat it as a good-faith draft, not final counsel-reviewed legal text, until Relio's public launch.

1. Overview

This policy explains what data Relio collects, why, and how it's protected. Relio is built on Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, data storage, and notifications.

2. Data we collect

  • Account information: name, email, and sign-in method (email, Google, or Apple).
  • Listing content: photos, titles, descriptions, prices, and category you provide when listing an item.
  • Chat messages: messages exchanged with other users through Relio's in-app chat.
  • Location: city-level location for listings and shipping.
  • Payment information: handled by a third-party payment processor once live — Relio does not store full card numbers.
  • Device & usage data: app version, device type, and basic usage analytics.

3. How we use your data

To operate the marketplace: creating and displaying listings, facilitating chat and offers, processing escrow-protected checkout, sending notifications, and preventing fraud and abuse.

4. Who we share data with

Relio uses Google Firebase for backend infrastructure (authentication, database, storage, and push notifications) and Google Gemini for AI-drafted listings. Once live payment processing launches, a licensed third-party payment processor will handle transactions. Relio does not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data retention

Account and transaction data is retained as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with legal and financial record-keeping obligations.

6. Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or request account deletion by contacting support@buysellrelio.com.

7. Children's privacy

Relio is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. International data transfers

Relio's infrastructure runs on Google Cloud, which may process data outside the UAE as part of Firebase's global infrastructure.

9. Security

Access to listings, chats, orders, and personal data is enforced through Firebase security rules and server-side validation for anything involving money or account changes.

10. Changes to this policy

Relio may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
