Terms of Service

Note: this page reflects Relio's real product structure and company facts, but has not yet had a full legal review. Treat it as a good-faith draft, not final counsel-reviewed legal text, until Relio's public launch.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Relio, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Relio.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You need an account to list or buy on Relio. Accounts are created through verified sign-in — email, Google, or Apple. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login secure.

3. Listings & prohibited items

Listings must accurately represent the item's condition, and photos should be of the actual item being sold.
Prohibited categories include illegal goods, counterfeit items, weapons, and anything that violates UAE law.
Relio may remove a listing or suspend an account that violates these terms.

4. Offers & negotiation

Buyers may make an offer instead of paying the listed price. A seller's acceptance of an offer is binding — the agreed price is what's charged at checkout.

5. Escrow & payments

When a buyer checks out, payment is captured and held by Relio until the buyer confirms the item arrived as described, at which point it's released to the seller. See How Relio Safety Works for the full mechanics, including the automatic 7-day refund backstop on unresolved returns.

Current fees: a buyer protection fee of 3% of the price plus AED 2 (capped at AED 99), and a seller service fee of 2.5% of the price, deducted from the payout. See pricing for the live fee schedule.

6. Shipping & returns

Sellers are responsible for shipping the item promptly after an order is placed. Buyers may initiate a return within the window specified at checkout if the item doesn't match its listing.

7. Disputes

If a buyer and seller can't resolve an issue directly, either party may open a dispute. Relio reviews disputes and may refund the buyer, release payment to the seller, or apply a partial resolution based on the evidence provided.

8. Relio Credits

Relio Credits are an in-app balance used for refunds, promotions, or referral rewards. Credits have no cash value outside the Relio platform and cannot be transferred between accounts.

9. Suspension & termination

Relio may suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Limitation of liability

Relio provides the marketplace platform but is not a party to the underlying sale between buyer and seller. To the extent permitted by law, Relio's liability is limited to the fees paid on the transaction in question.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

12. Changes to these terms

Relio may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Relio after a change means you accept the updated terms.
